This is Penny. Penny, Bob and I will be traveling soon and I decided to try my hand at blogging as we go. We will try to make this interesting for you, dear readers, as well as for ourselves. But first, a little background:
Bob and I have recently retired after 40+ years in healthcare. Not that we were always in healthcare. We're sort of 'bootstrappers'. Between us we have worked in a chemical factory, waited tables in a truck stop, picked grapes, and managed the complaint department of a now-defunct variety store, finally landing as a lawyer and a PhD nurse. We have three children, four grandchildren, two grand-dogs, three grand-cats, three bearded grand-dragons and a great-grand snake.
If you know anything about us you know that Bob is a car nut. In fact, when I first met him I thought he was loaded because he told me about all the old cars he owned. I quickly learned that most of them had trees growing up through them as they lived out in the elements on the Bray farm. But he drove a corvette and occasionally talked about Chevy creating a mid-engine model someday. That day arrived as we reached retirement, and now we have Penny. I say 'we' because she belongs to us both, but she is truly Bob's obsession. He spent the last two years selecting, changing and finalizing every part, color and finish.
A friend of mine shared her father's theory that there are three stages of retirement: Go, Go, Go; Go Slow; and No-Go. Makes sense to me. So being children of the 50's, we now plan to embark on the wisdom of the jingle 'see the USA in your Chevrolet'. We have been fortunate enough to have traveled through many states either for work or for fun, and have seen many of the islands in the Caribbean, some of Mexico, and even Cuba, but we realize much of our travel has been focused on destination, rather than on journey. So in the next few years, we plan to load our necessities into the limited trunk and frunk of Penny and go look for America. We hope you can join us!

My my my ... we know Bob loves fast cars and Penny is BEAUTIFUL!! Penny scared the dickens out of me. She's too fast for my taste. I miss my buddy!!
